Ans: The wise men answered my questions, but I was not satisfied with their answers. One day I decided to go and meet the hermit who lived in the woods. I went alone and wore simple clothes so he wouldn’t recognize me as the king.

When I arrived, the hermit was digging his garden. He looked tired, so I helped him dig. Suddenly, a wounded man ran to us. I cleaned his wound and cared for him through the night.

The next morning, the wounded man confessed he was my enemy who had come to kill me. He asked for my forgiveness, which I gave.

The hermit then answered my questions: the most important time is now, the most important person is whoever you are with, and the most important thing is to do good for that person. I understood that by helping the hermit and my enemy, I had already found these answers myself.

2. Imagine you are the hermit. Write briefly the incident of your meeting the king. Begin like this:

Ans: One day I was digging in my garden. A man in ordinary clothes came to see me. I knew it was the king though he tried to hide his identity. He asked me three questions, but I continued digging without answering.

The king kindly helped me dig when he saw I was tired. While we worked, a wounded man came running to us. The king helped clean and bandage the man’s wound and stayed all night caring for him.

In the morning, the wounded man revealed he was the king’s enemy. I then told the king his answers: the important time is now, the important person is who you are with, and the important work is doing good for them. By helping his enemy, the king had already found the answers through his actions.
