Ans: Yes, I have flown a kite during the festival of Makar Sankranti. I flew it in the open field near my house on a sunny and windy day in January.

(b) Describe the kite—colour(s), shape, design of tail, any other detail.

Ans: My kite was diamond-shaped with bright blue and orange colors. It had a long tail made of paper strips in white color. The edges of my kite had small designs of stars on them.

(c) What did you think when you saw the kite up in the sky?

Ans: When I saw my kite flying high in the sky, I felt very happy and excited. It looked so small from the ground but still very pretty against the blue sky. I felt proud that I could make it fly so high.

2. Search the internet for videos on Kite Festivals and watch them with your teacher and classmates.

Ans: The child hears “the songs that the wild wind sings.” These are the sounds made by the wind as it blows around the kite high in the sky.

(d) Why did the people look up at the child and stare? If you looked up and saw that, what feelings would you have?

Ans: The people looked up and stared because seeing a child riding on a kite would be very unusual and surprising. If I saw this, I would feel amazed and maybe a little worried for the child’s safety, but mostly I would feel wonder at such a magical sight.

(e) If you were the kite carrying the child high up in the air, what would you tell them?

Ans: If I were the kite, I would tell the child, “Hold on tight! Look at how beautiful everything looks from up here. Don’t be scared – I’ll keep you safe as we enjoy this special adventure together.”

Ans: I am a diamond-shaped kite with four corners and straight edges. My colors are bright blue and green, with yellow stripes that shine when the sun hits them. I love my long, colorful tail made of red ribbons that helps me fly straight and looks beautiful when I move through the air.

(ii) Where are you? Who do you belong to? What activities do you do? Who are your friends?

Ans: I fly high above the big field near the school where many children come to play. I belong to a happy 10-year-old boy named Raju who takes good care of me. I love dancing in the wind and playing tag with the clouds. My friends are the birds who fly beside me and other kites that join me in the sky during festivals.

Ans: My message to humans is: Look up at the sky sometimes! Life is not just about looking down at your books or phones. Feel the fresh air, enjoy the open spaces, and remember that like me, you too can rise above problems when the wind is right.
